Welcome And Why Stories Matter
Maria QuattroneWelcome, my friends. Thank you for joining back in today to the Be the Solution podcast. And I'm your host, Maria Quattrone. And I'm so excited this morning because I have a guest on Sharyn Mancini, who Sharon and I met like, oh gosh, I don't even know. Maybe about 15 years ago at your office. And it's it's been a while and it's been a hot minute since I seen you. And in between the time of us last speaking and now, which is probably now a few years ago, Sharon transformed her whole life. And she's gonna unpack it today. And we're gonna talk about transforming your life through your mindset. And with and then how she developed her new company called Green Love Homes. So welcome this morning, Sharon.
Sharyn ManciniThank you so much. I'm so glad to be here with you.
The Moment She Hit A Wall
Maria QuattroneOh, I'm so excited. So excited as I love hearing people's stories. And you know, my hope is always when we share stories, that there's somebody out there today, right now, that I know for fact needs this message. And so the the whole premise of the Be the Solution Podcast is to get our message out there, is to share, and to impact others because I believe that the reason that we are here, we had a 400 and trillion chance to be born, or one in 400 trillion, which sounds insane, literally insane. So I believe that our paths are to be better become a better person, human each and every day, and to impact as many people as we can while we're here on this great place called Earth. Yes, the purpose. So let's dive right in. You know, when before back in the green room, we talked about how you took a year off, a whole year.
Sharyn ManciniYeah, I did. I um it's sort of like I had to I had to become small to become big. And I know that sounds a little bit strange, but I really had to retract everything from my life and just get to ground zero to rebuild, just to have a better life, a better sense of purpose, and just to feel better about my business and my life in general. So I was walking my dog through the woods like I do every single morning, and all of a sudden it hit me that I don't like my job, right? Actually, I felt like I just couldn't do it anymore, like it was unbearable. And I had never gotten that message before. I've been in real estate all of my life. I don't know how to do anything else, is where all of my skills are. And so it was sort of startling and a little bit scary because I was like, what else would I do? Like, what would I do in this world besides real estate? It's all I've ever done. So I didn't really know what to do at that point, but I began to meditate. That's how it started. I was like, meditation. I've never really done meditation, I don't really know if it works. It sounds a little bit woo-woo. I don't know if it's for me. So I started with like five minutes using a uh site called Insight Timer, and I would set a timer for five minutes, and all I could think about was other things. I would sit there and be like, I am just sitting here thinking, this is such a waste of time. I don't think I'm doing it right, I don't think it works. But then I started increasing it and I still increase it to this day. So now I'm up to about an hour of meditation per day. It's the most important my life, and it's because I get so much from it. Like I had to go inside and listen to myself and listen to my parts and find out who was really speaking that said, I hate my job, and how to heal this person inside me and how to listen for what's next in my life.
Maria QuattroneSo let's get clarity on this so people that don't know you understand. You went in real estate for 20 years?
Sharyn ManciniOver that, yeah, since I was first licensed in 1997 as an agent. Then I went into investing in 2003. And um then I started lease options in 2010, and then I sort of did a hybrid of all that since COVID. So I didn't do as many lease options beginning in um 2020. So for the past five years, I did um I did sort of a hybrid solution for sellers where I was doing customized solutions, I was making offers on the property, cash offer, seller finance offer. And if that didn't work, I would go ahead and list the house. So that was my whole business model.
Maria QuattroneSo building your building your inventory in your inventory, yes. And building your inventory. And and what was the part of it, or maybe it was everything, but I just impressiveness.
Internal Family Systems Explained Simply
Building A Daily Meditation Practice
EFT Tapping Through Fear
Sharyn ManciniIt was just now that I think back, it was magnificent. It was just unbelievable that all of a sudden it wasn't anything that happened, it wasn't a bad deal, it wasn't like rejection from a seller, it was none of that. Like I've been through all of that in times where I'm like, I can't stand this, I don't know if I could do this anymore. It was nothing like that, Maria. It was totally different, and it was just it was just something where I had to immediately surrender to it and be like, okay, something is happening and what's next. And so I started that meditation, and um, from there I started therapy and I learned about something called internal family systems. And when I talk about saying, this person inside me, these parts inside me, there are parts inside of us that are formed in childhood that we suppress through trauma. And I had a lot of trauma in my childhood. I suppressed a lot of it and I didn't know that it was still there because I overran it with success from a career. So I was successful in my career, I was making a lot of money, I thought that everything was great. And I didn't realize that there were still these young parts of myself that had never been healed, and that the part of myself that was running the show, real estate Sharon, was sort of overrunning them all without really realizing. And I thought, as long as I'm successful, I'm making money, everything is good, I must be doing good in life. But that message to myself that came from inside me told me that I needed to destructure everything to restructure everything. And that's why it was so scary because I'd never had anything like that. And I was like, what does this mean? Like, what am I gonna do now? What am I gonna do? So I started therapy, I learned about internal family systems, and I began to work with my parts in meditation. And what that means is that when you meditate long enough, there comes a point where you're not bombarded by thoughts. So when I first started, I was bombarded by thoughts. All as I thought about what I'm gonna cook for dinner, what I have to do later, what I said yesterday, like all the things were just coming into my mind. And I slowly learned how to release those thoughts and just see them as thoughts and not have any judgment about myself in meditation and just know that the thoughts are going to come. They still come to me. Sometimes I will waste an entire meditation just by thoughts. But I learned now that that's not really a wasted meditation either. It's just what my system needs at any given time. So through this meditation, I learned how to come to a space of silence and stillness, and that's where I get messages and these parts of myself come forward and I ask them what they need. And so through this therapy, I learned how to nourish and really mother these parts of myself that had never been mothered, and to let them release so they can be children again and not have to run the show like I was running the show. So this IFS, very simple, but it's also a complex topic for anybody that's really interested in doing this. I highly recommend finding an IFS therapist. There's a website that um only includes IFS therapists. So if you just Google it, you'll find IFS. Right, internal family systems. We have a family inside us, every single person. And so the way that it was explained to me and what I learned is that in um if you look at yourself in a mirror, you just see yourself. But if a mirror is dropped on the ground, it's shattered. And if you look at yourself in the mirror, there's parts of you all over it. And so through IFS, I healed these parts to be able to move forward in a happier way, a way that I feel more excited about my life. Like I didn't realize how much I really didn't like what I was doing and how uninspired and unexcited I felt about it until this happened. So I started to work on these parts, and um, it was mainly through meditation. Like I still meditate daily if I don't, like if I if if I like am in a rush for something, the day just doesn't go right. Like I just don't feel those same. I am able to function so much better if I just do I do 40 minutes in the morning and then I do 20 minutes before I go to bed at night. So it's an hour total. And if I don't have those 40 minutes, I I just just I just don't feel the same and things don't go as well. So with these parts, I also integrated um what's called tapping. And tapping is I would notice a part of myself that was fearful or inhibited, and it was preventing me from moving forward in things with my life. And so you're also able to do this on YouTube. I use it's just in on YouTube, it's called Tap with Brad. He's my favorite tapper, right? There's a several of them, but I follow Tap with Brad, and he teaches me how to use tapping to get through hard parts of my life that we all have, that I never wanted to admit any weakness. I never wanted to say that I needed help, that I had weaknesses, that I didn't know what to do, that I felt scared, that I felt unsure. And through tapping, I was able to release those parts. I had parts of myself that were afraid of being seen. And so they were stopping me from moving forward. Now, I do a lot of videos, I do a lot of speaking events. You would never think that I was afraid of being seen. But I wasn't so much on a surface level, it was just something inside me that I did the meditation, the part came forward, I realized that there was a part that was afraid of being seen, and I tapped through it. So tapping is um pressure points throughout your body that you tap on. These are the pressure points, and that's what I learned to do. And I actually did this on stage for a speaking event um last July with Terry. So Terry's also on our panel, and I did this with the audience. And you know what I love, Maria? I saw a girl later, like I don't know, six months later, and she had just had a baby, and she told me that she tapped, like to get through those newborn stages where she was like unsure, she didn't know what to do, overwhelmed. A baby cries all the time, she's exhausted, she's breastfeeding. She told me that she tapped during this to help her. So it's really true for me.
Maria QuattroneI actually know what tapping is because um about 15 years ago, I went and saw somebody to release this feelings I had from being when I was younger. And I had a lady who I'd go to every week and I would lay there like naked on the bed on the thing, basically naked. I don't know. And she would tap well, I felt a lot better after I got this thing done.
Surrendering Control And Old Plans
Sharyn ManciniLike it's a real thing, like it is. I know it sounds like so woo-woo, and it's just nothing that I ever thought that I would develop in my life or knew. I didn't even know about like this or care about it, but now it's the most important part of my life because I know that I have to heal these parts to move forward and to move forward in a way that feels more inspiring to me than what I was doing. Like I didn't even realize that I didn't even know I had this part called a protector, and it covers up everything. I was like all gas, no breaks. I was on fast forward all the time. I was just so success-oriented, so financially driven, and that's no longer parts of my life now. I am no longer, I don't have that anymore. And I just surrendered all of this. And surrender was a whole nother thing that I had to get through with releasing everything that I thought I was, all these goals I thought I had, all of these plans. I had a five-year plan, a three-year plan, a one-year plan, a six-month plan, 90-day plan, a 30-day plan. So those were my plans all the time. I was always striving to reach them. And if I didn't, I would feel bad. And if I did, I thought I was a success. But I realized I wasn't really successful internally. So this is what I had to do. I had to retract everything to move forward. That's a lot of takes a lot of courage. It did, but I had to because I really like at that point where I was like, I don't like my job. I was like, what? What do you mean I don't like my job? I'm great at it. You know, I have like happy customers, happy clients, like, you know, things are going well, reviews are good, you know, all that. And it just occurred to me. And so I had to get deep into something, Maria. And I had to figure this out because I am the sole supporter of my family. My husband supports me in my business, but I don't have any other income for my family. And so I have to make a living. And so I'm fortunate enough to have investments that supported us during this year, but I'm not ready to retire yet. I even thought about that. I was like, maybe I'll just retire, but I'm not ready. I still have more in me. And what I'm really excited about is the future because I did this IFS, the tapping, journaling. I have pages, notebooks full of writing all of this down. And I just started with what's happening with me? What is wrong with me? I thought there was something wrong with me at the time, but now I realize like how right that really was and how important and significant and impactful what happened to me that day when I was walking in the woods, what happened to me with that message that I got was so important. And I didn't know what to do with it. So I just, between the IFS therapy, the tapping, the meditation, the journaling, surrendering it all to God, those are the five major things that I did because in the midst of this, like our birthday is April 29th. And I remember last year when I blew out my birthday candles, I just said a prayer to God and I said, just turn my heart more towards yours. And that was my wish. And my life has changed so much. I started going to the Catholic Church. I go every week. I'm a big part of my church now. I do a lot of contribution there just because it feels like from the heart and it just feels so good. And I love doing it. And that's how I'm creating my new business that I have coming up, which is Green Love Homes, through all of five things. That's how I recreated everything. And it was not easy at all. All right. You during the midst of this, you want to reject it. You want to be like, this isn't real, this isn't happening. But I kept doing it. And the more I did it and the more I continue to do it, the more clear everything is becoming. So the contributions, like I think you know that I'm in in animal rescue. And so I've been in, I've been a senior volunteer with Brookline Lab Rescue for 13 years. And so I did, I've always been a very altruistic person. I've always been a very giving person. So now I do it with my church as well. And that is the business that I'm creating, it's all about giving. It's not about money anymore, it's about contributions, it's about giving. And I know that I will be divinely taken care of. All my needs will be met. And I had to surrender into that, that I'm not the one in control. And so I had to release that control, and that's what I did. And I'm in the midst of creating Green Love Homes, which I'm super excited about too.
Maria QuattroneOh gosh. Wow. It's such an inspiration. There's a story. If somebody right now is sitting there on the fence of how do they move forward with, you know, you had a business, so you just stopped doing the business.
Redefining Success As Time And Peace
Sharyn ManciniLike I did. I did. I'm very fortunate to have had a very successful business. And so I stopped. And that was scary too. But I also a lot of my expenses, I don't need everything that I used to need. I used to need trips to Florida all the time. I was flying back and forth. I don't take trips anymore. Like, I just like it's funny because you would think that it is about um feeling like you don't like, I don't know what the word is for it, but feeling like you you have to like be deprived and that you can't have all the things that you think that you want. But it's that they slip away and you don't care for them anymore. Like I really don't care about it all anymore. It just stopped. And the more I did the meditation and the more I learned about myself and the parts that thought that success symbols were making me happy, I learned that the ultimate success symbol is the luxury of time. And that's what matters to me now is having the time to be able to focus on what is happening inside me so I can grow huge to go out and give it all to the world. And that's what I care about. It's no longer how many transactions have I done, um, how much money am I making? Does it all look good on social media? I really don't care about all that anymore because I I feel like deprived, like you think that I would, but I'm very happy that I mean I had a long career, you know. If I was 27, I don't think I would have been able to do that because I wouldn't have enough money, enough life experience to proceed with this. So I am fortunate enough that I did have that. I reduced my expenses a lot. It really doesn't cost that much for me to live. And I know that something amazing is coming from here and growing from all of this because I just have faith in God and I know that I'm learning about what I'm here for. And He's putting me in positions to build contributions way more than I ever had because now I have leverage of God. Like I didn't have that before. It was me. I was singly out there being powerful in the world, but now I know I'm divinely powerful, and so there's so much more that's happening. And honestly, I really don't have all the steps yet, but I have the first steps and I'm just watching those first steps and looking at those first steps and taking those first steps like fearlessly. I can't say fearlessly. I'm tapping through the fear, I'm journaling through the fear, I'm praying about the fear, and so it's not necessarily that I'm like, I'm totally fearless. I have I know exactly what's going on. I don't know what's going on. I'm just listening for the steps and I'm getting the steps and I feel relieved, I feel happy, I feel safe in my life. There's a lot of times I felt unsafe in my life because my childhood too, my childhood was extremely rough. I've been alone on my own since I was 14 years old, and I have survived in the world. And the way that I did it is money keeps me safe. That was my protector part. Thinking if I have money, I'm safe. And so that's why I was so money driven.
Maria QuattroneIs that something you decided when you were young that you were never gonna not have money? You didn't have money as a kid, or you had it, you didn't have it, the bills weren't paid, the water was off. I'm just that's making an assumption. All that happened, yeah. My parents said, Yeah, and I said, as a little girl, I'm not gonna be in the situation. That's right, I'm always gonna have money.
Pulling Back Without Fully Quitting
Sharyn ManciniThat's right, and it kept me safe, and it was a protector part of mine that just kept me safe. And I didn't realize that I had suppressed these inner children inside me, and I wasn't listening to them. I was just on full power mode. And um, I had to release the brakes or I had to release the gas and just kind of coast and just listen to what was next. I don't think it's necessary to take a full year off. Like if if someone is listening to this and they're like, I can't take a four-year whole year off. I wasn't totally off. I still have like business coming to me, um, just because you know, it's just a referral business. You're just in the business for that long. You have people that call you about real estate. So I did do a couple deals in the midst of this, but I really selected ones that I really felt like I could do in a peaceful way that weren't like I was so over striving. I have been that has been like what I've done my whole entire life. So I was so over it. And I just took the deals that I wanted. I lived frugally, and um now like I'm I'm in expansion mode. Like I just really went back to work, started doing more. Oh, I did a little training, I was doing some consulting during this time too, during the year. So I wasn't like totally like in bliss all day long. I still had things to do, I still have a family to take care of. And so I was still like I wasn't totally inactive in real estate, but I really pulled back probably about 80% of my business. So I was working about 20% that I was. So if anyone is listening to this, it's not necessary to totally just take a year off and sit under a tree with your legs crossed in meditation. Like, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about taking the time and resources that you have to be able to have the freedom to transform yourself and to build a life that you want.
Maria QuattroneYes, and instead of the one that you thought you wanted.
Green Love Homes And Restoring Integrity
Sharyn ManciniThat's right. And to go with my ideals. Like I care a lot about the environment. I care a lot about health, and um, I care a lot about the other creatures on this earth, not just animals. Like I'm in animal rescue, but I care a lot about the people too. And so So my um company that I'm building is called Green Love Homes. It's a instead of like it's not, I stand like rehabbing. It's it's messed up now. Like it just got so ruined by so many people hopping into it, half finished rehabs, awful materials, not knowing what they're doing. Like the whole industry just got crushed like in the past six years from so many people jumping into it that don't know what they're doing. So my business is more about restoration and keeping the things, the integrity of the original home, and not ripping out everything and doing a gray and white house. There are enough gray and white new construction rehab houses in the world to fit everyone's needs. But my business is more about original hardwood, low VOC and no VOC paints, and um just a healthier home for people and a more affordable home. Because if I rehab a house, like if I buy a house, say for $200,000, I rehab it, I have $150 into it, and then I can sell it for four. There are a lot of people that need housing in the $300,000 range. So if I don't do that one, I think I said $150 rehab, and I just do say $70 or $80, by not ripping out the whole entire house and putting like all new materials in it, I could preserve a lot of it and sell it at a cheaper price or a less expensive price than if I was to rehab the whole house. So that's where I'm moving towards more restoration of homes, less rehabbing, and also um more affordable housing, working with Catholic charities, um, people that need housing to create affordable and not just affordable, but beautiful housing. A lot of Section 8 housing is not beautiful, it's in terrible neighborhoods. And I remember like renting a house to someone that was a Section 8 tenant, and she told me this is the first time that I've ever felt proud about where I live. And I want to do that times a thousand. I want lots of places where people feel proud about where they live. So it's not about doing it cheaply, which is most investors, it's more about doing it from the heart and just making contributions to the world and being taken up care of financially in the meantime, because I know that like as I move forward with this, it will happen and I'll figure it out one way or another. It's not totally clear for me yet, but this is the direction I'm moving in, and I feel good about it, I feel peaceful, I feel excited, and it all just it it's it's soul led instead of financially led.
Maria QuattroneYeah, that's a lot, and I think I don't know, I think a lot of people feel maybe like you feel or felt Sharon. I think it's a scary endeavor to leave everything that you've known because you you basically have been in real estate your whole career and to leave that security of I know this business, I know what I'm doing. I even miserable, I still know what I'm doing.
Sharyn ManciniThat's right, and I didn't know I was miserable. That's the funny thing. I didn't know I were like I thought everything was just fine, but these parts needed to be mothered, all right? I had parts inside me that were like, I'm still here, still here crying, and you have left me and went out and you think that you're successful, but I I need love, and so yeah, if there's anything that anyone can take from this podcast, is love yourself. We can just stop now. That's it, love yourself. So that is the the key to my not only financial success, but also spiritual success.
Maria QuattroneGosh, I wonder, you know, if you think back, say five years ago, would you have been able to see it?
Letting Go Of Status And Approval
Sharyn ManciniI don't think so. Your your protector has really overrun the whole show. Like there's three main parts in IFS and the exiles are the children that we suppress. The protectors are it's all of our jobs. All everyone who has a job has a protector part by that job. That's what protects us. And then there's the firefighters. So firefighters are life destroying, but they put out the fire. Like a good example is an alcoholic. An alcoholic putting out the fire. That part is helping them, but it's destroying the rest of their lives. So your parts, they are sort of kind of, I guess I narrow-minded, where they're like, I don't care, I'm putting out the pain. By drinking, I will put out this pain, but they're destroying the rest of it, but it works effectively. So any addiction like that is a firefighter. Overeating is a firefighter. Anything that someone uses that is immediate relief is a firefighter. And then our protectors run that was what was running my whole show. And I had these exiles, these inner children that I had exiled in my childhood and throughout my teen years that weren't being seen, that needed to be seen. And I needed that message. And even though it was scary, and it still continues to be scary, this is still scary because I'm like, am I going to make enough money through my altruistic endeavors to be able to survive in this world? It's becoming a more expensive world as we speak. And this the future is so uncertain. Like, this is such a scary time to be doing it because I always had the money that protected me, but I don't really know what my income is going to be. And if you told me that five years ago, I would have had every idea what my income was going to be. I knew exactly what I was doing all the time. I knew what my financial goals were, but I put financial goals to the side. And I'm just going in the direction that feels peaceful. And that's how you know that you hear the voice of God is what's peaceful. That's what I learned. I was I was very um confused when God was never a part of my life. When God came into my life, I was like, how do I know it's God? And so I learned that it's when it's peaceful. That's how I know I'm in the right direction. That's how I know it's the voice of God. And that's how I know what to do. I used to know what to do by writing it all down and looking at what everybody else was doing. That's what I learned how to now do things. But now I just listen. I listen for the for the nudges and what feels good and what feels real in my life. And that's that's what I go towards. That's what I'm going towards is healthier homes, less rehab, less destroying the earth, less toxic homes, and just putting in materials that are good for people, where you can feel safe with your babies crawling on the floor and homes that the part of the green love thing is um a garden will be included with every home. So I think it's really important for us to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and to have herbs at our disposal and flowers. You know, it's pretty. So my landscaping budget will be going up, which is fine. And um, but my cabinet budget will be going down since my goal is to not really tear out anything unless it's in bad condition, but really just preserve the original integrity of the home and update it, restore it. So um anyway, a garden will be included with each home. And just I'm all about like the way that homes feel for people and the way that I can um support humanity that I never have before. It was all about, you know, supporting me. Like I did the dog thing for a long time. I always had that part inside me about giving. But um, it's just it's amazing. Like, I can't I can't believe it. As I sit here and say this, I can't even believe it that this all happened. But I'm more excited about my life than ever before. And I just feel very fulfilled with what I'm doing and the release, the surrender is so important. Like, I just it's hard to do that, but I did it through tapping, the surrender. Like that helped me a lot just to let go and to move back. I had to retract everything in my life to rebuild it. Did you ever feel or think, what are people gonna think? Um no, that went away. I that's what I felt my whole life about what people would think.
Maria QuattroneYeah. And I know that's a question people are probably thinking right now as they're listening to this or watching this.
Sharyn ManciniYou lose that. I've lost the feeling of what will other people think? I really don't care. I don't really don't notice other people as much as I used to. Like, I'm really in my own little world here with my family. Like, we really don't do that much anymore. I don't really need to do anything anymore. It's really interesting. Like, I used to love fine dining, like that was my thing, you know. I loved being in nice restaurants, I loved being at the four season spa. Like that was my thing, and that's what I love to do, but I really don't care anymore. I just love to be home and sit in silence more so than I love being at the four season spa. Like I just lost my attraction for those things and my pursuit of those things. So I don't think about what other people think about all of this, and I'm saying it publicly now, and I have said it on stages in the past six months or so. And you know, I I guess I always wanted people to think that I was successful, but I really don't care what they think anymore. I know I'm successful, and God knows that I'm successful. So that's that's all that really matters.
Maria QuattroneIt's so interesting. Uh we tie success to things that are, you know, like going to the four seasons or going to felt very successful there.
Sharyn ManciniI felt very successful, but it was very surfacey, Maria. It wasn't inside success.
Maria QuattroneThat's the most important thing, and the only person that knows that is you and God.
Sharyn ManciniThat's right.
Maria QuattroneSo the only person you're fooling is yourself.
Sharyn ManciniThat is absolutely the truth. I it was easy to fool myself for a very long time for my whole life. I fooled myself into thinking if other people think I'm great, if I appear great, then I am great because I didn't feel great, but I didn't know it. But I still, you know, when you have the kind of childhood that I had and the kind of teenagerhood that I had, and you're living from place to place, and you hear people talk about how much they don't want you there, and being in a real estate business that's filled with rejection, I would get devastated by phone calls sometimes, things that people would say to me. I felt like the things that they said were true, and I would get very, very hurt by it. But I really that now that that's coming from the beliefs that they have, which have nothing to do with me. Like whatever anybody thinks about me doesn't matter. I used to think that what everybody thought about me is what mattered, and I wanted them to think only good things about me, so I was performative. I performed a lot about like the fine dining. It's actually quite unhealthy. It's much healthier to eat at home. But I felt like by being in these fine dining establishments and taking luxury trips and flying back and forth to Florida, that was a big part of my life. For six to seven years, I was going back and forth to Orlando, and um, I don't do that anymore. Like it felt good to like I just lost my appeal. Orlando didn't. I'll still do some investing in Orlando, but I'm not gonna like fly back and forth anymore. Like, that's just not my thing. I just love to stay home and in silence. That's what I like to do. Like, I love to just be quiet. Like, that's that's I it just as you do this meditation, all of that stuff, you're just like, I don't know where it went, but I don't care about it anymore. All I care about is this this feeling, this peace that I have, and the contributions to the world that I give. That's what I care about now.
Maria QuattroneOh my gosh, so good, such a breath of fresh air on this beautiful spring morning.
Sharyn ManciniYes, it is. It's such a breath of fresh air in my whole life now. I really needed this so bad. I I needed, and now I love it that I can share it. Like I really hope that people are touched by this and realize that it's possible for themselves because I never thought that I could be peaceful and successful, but I didn't realize that peace and success were the same thing. So I thought that I had to be on drop for sure.
Maria QuattroneYeah, no, and I think something you either learn it or you don't learn it, and it takes sometimes a long time.
Manifestation Mentors And Contribution
Sharyn ManciniIt does, it takes our lifetime, it takes our lifetime, and you really have to like I'm so fortunate that I got that message that I didn't like my job. It wasn't really that, I just didn't like the way that I was doing things, and there were things inside me that weren't addressed, and it wasn't that I was doing like bad things in real estate or intentionally hurting people, I just didn't feel like I was giving. I felt like I was just working and making money, and I didn't feel like now this whole business that I'm creating comes from my heart and soul. Like it's all about contribution, it's all about giving. It's there is no financial consideration whatsoever in this business. I just know that money just comes in, and you know, this is all like this can branch off into the whole power of manifestation because that's all just releasing, too. It's just releasing the parts of yourself that don't believe that you can have whatever you want. So there's, you know, everyone that talks about manifestation and how to have the things that you want and visualization. This is all part of it. So it all comes into me organically and naturally, without me having to be like, how am I gonna get it? And there was so much power behind all that all those protector parts that did that in a decade-long or two decades-long real estate career. That was my mission. How am I gonna get it? What am I gonna do? I'm gonna be powerful in the world, I'm gonna go out and get it. Like that was well my thing, but now I'm just like and that way works too. Both ways work, it just depends on how you want your life and how you how you see life and what your worldview is. Yeah, that is for sure.
Maria QuattroneAnd it's freeing when you be feel like you've actually become free, because we are all sovereign people, but we've been sold into a system that wants us to believe that we need all these other things, and wants us to believe that we need to have that candy or that ice cream or that hamburger or cheeseburger, and like this it's not um gosh. If I go down this hole, it'll be a hole. But it is um really that system of like control, right? Starts when you're in school, sit in your chair, don't speak, yeah, follow the rules, right?
Sharyn ManciniRight. Yeah, our society has such an impact on us, like the things that we are led to believe that are necessary for a successful and happy life are it's probably actually the opposite of what they tried to convince us of, and so that along with the parts that I had a lot of parts that felt unworthy that I covered up by looking worthy, and so I had to address those parts that felt unworthy of being anything in the world. I just covered it all up with a career, and I just I love those parts. I just had to love them and tell them that they are inherently worthy just by being here, just by being born. What was your statistic? One in like four trillion or something of our chances, yeah, 400 trillion, our chances of being here. I'm worthy just because of that. Like that's right, I made it, and so I had a lot of unworthy parts that I filled up with things like food and with um success. And so by loving those parts and mothering those parts that were never mothered, I was able to come to this place. And by no means is this place perfect, but it's a place of growth and a place that I'm still learning about myself. Like, I don't think I'll ever stop this now. I think this is just a part of who I am. Now, these practices, I still do all everything. It's not like I did all this and I'm like, look at me. Now I'm so transformed. I'm totally transformed. Life is nonstop bliss. It's not that, it's a continual process that I'm always working on. There's still parts that come up all the time. There are still parts that are happening to me. I still use vices, I still do eat ice cream, all right. That's my vice. Snacks at night. I still do that, but I was never mindful of what I was doing. It was just like eat and I'll feel better. But I didn't realize that I was eating to feel better. But that was my vice, like snacks, sweets, things like that. But all that comes from my childhood too. Whether I was good or bad, I got snacks. All right. It was like not that I was feeling the way that I felt. If I felt good, we were celebrating and I got snacks, I got cake and ice cream and candy. And if I felt bad, I was fed. And so all of that came from childhood too. That message of if you eat these snacks and candy, you will you will feel better. This will is what will make you feel better. And so I still have parts that are doing that, and I'm still working with all of these parts. I'm still learning, like this business. I'm so excited about it, but I don't know the next steps. I don't really know. I used to know all the steps, all right. The steps were really important. I had everything, like all these goals, all these steps, what I was gonna do, how I was gonna do it. But now I have it all surrendered and I'm just listening for what's next. So I'm just building this, just one little step. Like there's a saying, I forget who said it or really what it is, but something about you don't have to see the whole staircase, just the first couple steps. Well, I was such a control freak that I could never I had to know the whole staircase, like exactly I would so many plans, and now I released all that. I don't have the plans, but I do see the first couple steps, and so I'm just taking those first couple steps and really excited about what's to come from this because I know that there's a lot of amazing parts inside myself that are giving and altruistic and loving, and they are all about making this world better, and I'm surrounded by people that are making this world better, and that's very important too who you're around. It's no longer like I want to be around people that are also making a million dollars a year, like I want to be around people that are taking trips and have money and but I really care anymore. I'm about people that are around people that are giving in the world, and one of them is my amazing coach that I've talked about in my other speaking events and podcast Augie by Lot. And Augie taught me everything that I know about real estate, not everything. I met him in 2015, so I was already in the real estate business for quite some time, but he just expanded my mind so much, and now he travels the world and he distributes wheelchairs to people in other countries that are unable, they didn't it they don't have a gift of mobility. It's called chair the love, and so I am supporting that. I I watch what he does, like he's just so amazing, he's so giving. It's just it's just what he's doing. So he doesn't um coach anymore, but I love what he is doing, I love him. He's been so transformational in my life and just someone that I honor, respect, and follow. And so that's that's the people that I'm around these days, is people that are doing like such huge things in the world, not people that have money. I really don't care if somebody has five cents or trillions of dollars. I really don't care. I care about what's inside them. Are they progressive? Are they growing in a spiritual way? And I don't care how much money anybody has. I just want to be around people that are doing good things in the world. It's all what it's about. That's why it's be the solution.
Maria QuattroneIt is it starts absolutely starts with yourself. So this has been very inspiring, very uplifting um episode today, Sharon.
Sharyn ManciniThank you for joining me. You are really inspiring. Like, I am so excited to have you on the panel. Like, you are such a superstar, Maria. That's why, you know, those times that we met in your office 15 years ago, like at the time I was just trying to get around people that were successful. That was my goal. All right. So I was like having lunch with all these different successful agents, and that's why I reached out to you. And I just wanted to be around people, like I always knew that by osmosis, like the people that you're around, is how you are, and that's it's a little different in my world now. But you were always an inspiration. You are one of the hardest working ladies that I know. You are successful in your marriage, you are able to do these world travels, which I can't wait to hear more about. But um, I just I felt like by adding you to the panel that we have coming up, that you can just touch these women that feel like they can't have all of that or have parts that are too scared to move forward because you overcame your parts too. You may not use the terms, but you did it. You were able to overcome parts of yourself that hold so many people back. How many people get the real estate license? How many people fail? It's because they have not gotten to the core of what they need to do. You have to work through a lot. It looks so easy, but it's not. And people come into this business thinking it's easy, both the investing side and the agent side. You come into this business, you think it's going to be easy. This is all you have to do. It's not. You have to get through some pretty serious parts of yourself, and a lot of that is fear. People will not move forward if there is fear involved. People will not let themselves move forward. But you did it. You have you've done really, really good things, and you do it with integrity. You have so much strength to show. I can't wait to hear what you have to say on this panel. So anyway, but I'm super psyched about it. But it's gonna be great.
Maria QuattroneI'm excited to share and to contribute and to help people rise up. Yes, yes. That's what it's all about. Like being in contribution. That's right. Taking the time. You know, if we can help one person and we did our job. Yes, for sure. So I'm excited to see you next week. Me too. In the meantime, you keep on being the solution, and congratulations on your new endeavor, Green Loves Homes, Green Love Homes. I know it's gonna be super successful because it already is.
Sharyn ManciniYeah, it is. That's true. So thank you so much for honoring me and having me on this podcast, Maria. I really I appreciate it. Thank you.
