The Power of Persistence: Finding Success in the Final Hour

Maria Quattrone Season 1 Episode 299

What separates successful agents from struggling ones? Often, it's simply the willingness to push beyond the point where others quit. On day three of my 100 appointment listing challenge, this truth manifested dramatically when, after hours of seemingly fruitless calls, all four of my daily listing appointments materialized within the final 75 minutes of the workday.

The numbers tell a compelling story: 67 dials to 60 people, 20 conversations, 16 meaningful connections (lasting two minutes or more), and three hours of talk time. Yet until that final push from about 6:00 PM to just after 7:00 PM, I had zero appointments to show for the effort. Would I have continued this long before committing to the challenge? Probably not. And therein lies the valuable lesson—success often waits just beyond our comfort zone, just past the point where reasonable people might call it a day.

The achievement wasn't limited to setting appointments. Four listings from previous days' efforts were signed, and I conducted two listing appointments—all part of maintaining pipeline momentum across different stages of the business. This balanced approach becomes increasingly critical as market challenges loom on the horizon. As I reminded myself throughout the day: you have to keep going until you hit your commitment, not until you feel like stopping. The work works when you commit fully to the process, regardless of when results appear.

How many opportunities are you missing by ending your prospecting sessions too early? What potential clients are you failing to reach because you've already convinced yourself "today isn't the day"? The difference between meeting your goals and falling short might be that one extra hour of persistence when results seem furthest away.

MARIA QUATTRONE:

got to just keep going. You have to just keep going. So today, day three, march, 5th wednesday, number day three of the 100 appointment listing challenge for the month of march, and I'm going to give you my results for the day. But before I that, I want to mention something that the appointments that I scheduled did not come until the last hour and 15, hour and 20 minutes of the day, and I was thinking to myself oh yeah, this is rough, this is rough. So here's my results.

MARIA QUATTRONE:

I had 67 dials to 60 people today, 20 people. I connected with 16 of those. I had conversations that were two minutes or more three hours of talk time. I set four listing appointments and those four appointments happened in the last, probably from six no, a little before six till seven o'clock. I finished, should about five after seven. And so what do you learn from that? All day, all day, and then the last hour ish, I got four appointments and I'm thinking, like last week, would I have continued going, would I have spent that extra hour? And I don't know that I would have. I would have just said well, tomorrow, but I have to set at least four appointments a day, if not five. So some days it's more, some days it's less, but I got to get it for 100% for four. So four listings got signed today. Those were ones that were from the last couple days and I had two listing appointments today. So recap 20 conversations, 16 of them were two minutes or more, four listings got signed, four appointments were set at the end of the day and I had two listing appointments.

MARIA QUATTRONE:

Moral of the story is you just have to keep going. That's the message for tonight. You just have to keep going. You have to keep going until you hit your commitment. I was willing to stay until eight o'clock in order to get those four, but I got them and now I'm home. I just got home. So you got to just keep doing the work. Not going to get any easier out there, folks, it's just not knowing what I know from people much smarter than I am there's going to be some serious things over the next couple years and you have to be ready for it and you have to go and you got to keep going and you got to keep moving, got to keep doing, keep doing the work, because you know what we know at the end of the day, if you keep doing it, that work works. So day three is in the books. Yeah, day three is done. Have a great night everybody. I will see you tomorrow night for tomorrow's update. Make it a great one.
