The Discipline of Staying Focused When Success Calls

Maria Quattrone Season 1 Episode 297

The unexpected power of staying relentlessly focused reveals itself in surprising ways. Despite my day not going according to plan, I found myself ahead of schedule in my ambitious 30-day challenge to secure 100 listing appointments this March.

Through deliberate focus and discipline, I connected with 35 potential clients and engaged in 24 meaningful conversations lasting over two minutes each. These three hours of dedicated phone time yielded extraordinary results: nine listing appointments scheduled, six appointments completed, and one listing already resigned. With 12 total appointments now on the board for March, the momentum is building faster than anticipated.

The true breakthrough came in moments of potential distraction. Several times throughout the day, I caught myself about to veer off into office gossip or unproductive tangents. Each time, I firmly reminded myself, "this does not serve me," and redirected my energy back to income-producing activities. This mental discipline proved as valuable as any tactical approach to prospecting.

By day's end, the slight headache I felt was a small price for the substantial progress made. The journey isn't just about hitting numbers—it's about becoming the professional who consistently takes the actions necessary for success. As I prepare to repeat this process tomorrow, I'm reminded that our achievements always align with our deepest beliefs about what's possible. What do you believe you can accomplish if you eliminate the distractions that don't serve your goals?

Speaker 1:

Today did not go as I had planned. Nope, today did not go as I had planned. So, as you may or may not know, I am in the 30-day listing challenge to do 100 listing appointments in the month of March, listing appointments in the month of March. And today, as much to my surprise, I am actually ahead of what I had planned to do. People I connected to 35 and I had 24 conversations for two minutes or more. So I talked to 24 people for two minutes or more and talk time today was three hours, three hours on the phone. Talking Doesn't include dials, doesn't include leaving messages, just of having conversations. From that, nine listing appointments were scheduled. I had six listing appointments were scheduled. I had six listing appointments today. One listing so far resigned and many of those six are going to the next step. So the total of 12 listing appointments on the board for the month of March, 12 listing appointments on the board for the month of March. Six were today and six are in the very near future. So it was a. I am running, running, running, running and hitting those results and so some of the things takeaways from today One.

Speaker 1:

A few times I could have went off on a tangent about different things happening in the office. I stopped and said this does not serve me, I don't need to be talking about this, it's wasting time. I'm going to go back to what I'm doing, and that happened a couple of times, and so you have to think about. It's not only doing this work, but it's the journey and who you're becoming by doing it, and I talked about that the other night. So today was a great day. It was a lot of work. By the end of the day I had a slight headache. Anyway, off to tomorrow and I'm going to do it again. I'm going to do it again. So I wanted to give you this update and know that whatever you believe is possible and that you can do, you will do it. Have a great night, everybody. I will see you again tomorrow night for the update of tomorrow's results.
